Conveyor equipment is a piece of equipment with numerous moving metal components. Therefore, attention to maintenance and upkeep is crucial for companies to maximize their investment. A regular maintenance schedule is crucial for conveyor reliability. Regular inspections and corrections help prevent minor problems from becoming serious downtime for the conveyor system. Conveyor equipment maintenance and inspection personnel should carefully record the exact date, problems discovered, and the steps taken to correct them. Good recordkeeping helps regularly monitor maintenance personnel's response to maintenance requests and assess the effectiveness of corrective actions. With appropriate documentation, maintenance personnel can identify problematic components and possibly replace them, detect improper use of the conveyor system, or identify other causes of wear and tear.
Generally, maintenance personnel should inspect conveyor belts every three months. If the conveyor system operates for more than one trip, it is recommended to reduce the inspection interval to two or one month. One benefit of scheduling maintenance early is that it allows conveyor system users to perform work before operations are slow, rather than having to do so when the conveyor system is fully operational. Before testing and operating the conveyor system, lubricate the bearings and other components of the drive system as much as possible. Also, grease the drive system regularly.
1. Oil Level
Check the entire oil level in the powertrain regularly. Insufficient lubrication is a common problem in most mechanical systems.
2. Current and Voltage
Ensure that the equipment is receiving the proper current and voltage.
3. Adjusting the Conveyor Chain Tension
If the conveyor system is new, make sure to adjust the conveyor chain unwinding regularly during the first few months of operation.

4. Set a regular schedule
Regularly check the conveyor for lubrication. Excessive lubrication isn't necessary, but if the conveyor doesn't receive it, it can cause serious and costly problems.
5. Check and tighten the bolts
During the first half of the year, while the conveyor is in operation, regularly check and tighten the bolts on the connecting supports and the nuts on the equipment bracket bolts.
