Drill String Heave Compensation System (Exploration Vessel)
To minimize or eliminate the impact of sea conditions on offshore equipment, ocean exploration vessels are equipped with heave compensation systems. Installed between the hull and the target load, the heave compensation system minimizes the impact of wave motion on the load's position.
The drill string heave compensation system utilizes passive compensation from the traveling block. Installed between the traveling block and the top drive, it primarily consists of a drill string heave compensation unit (integrated with a gas-hydraulic accumulator, control valve block, and hydraulic cylinder), a compensation frame, a locking device, a hydraulic station, a high-pressure air compressor, and a high-pressure pneumatic valve block.
